MNP #8: Will US raise debt ceiling to avoid economic turmoil?

Democrats and Republicans still have not reached a deal to raise the nation's debt limit before June 1, when Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen says the government will run out of money and must be able to take on more debt. 

If the limit is not raised, Social Security and other payments could be delayed. The U.S. could also default for the first time in the country's history, and the global economy could feel the impact.

• May 24 marks the one year anniversary of the shooting at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas, where 19 students and two teachers were killed by a gunman armed with an AR-15. 
• Music legend Tina Turner passes away at the age of 83; and
• Rapper Fetty Wap is sentenced to six years in federal prison for drug trafficking.
